Are You Compliant with CA SB 553?
Do you own or operate any properties in California? If so, you will need to ensure you are compliant with California Senate Bill 553.
If you own or operate in California, you are likely familiar with California’s existing OSHA law of 1973, which mandates certain safety responsibilities from employers. This new law, however, which goes into place in July 2024, takes these requirements one step further.
First, employers must “establish, implement and maintain, at all times…an effective workplace violence prevention plan”.
Second, employers must create and maintain a violent incident log for every workplace violence incident.
Finally, employers must provide adequate training to employees on both the violence prevention plan and the violent incident log.
A safety solution like Apartment Guardian effectively addresses all three regulations, by providing employees with an industry specific safety device that is proven to help prevent violence onsite, as well as reducing the risk of a serious event should violence occur.
Additionally, Apartment Guardian’s dashboard keeps a log of every device use, which would take the burden of managing violence logs out of the hands of individual property managers or regional managers.
Finally, Apartment Guardian is so easy to use and set-up that our online training program takes less than 5 minutes and is handled entirely by us. Don’t worry about trying to hire or manage an onsite training team when you can just deploy Apartment Guardian at any California property.
Don’t get caught out of compliance with California’s new safety compliance laws. Order your devices by July 2nd and you will receive everything you need to be compliant by the time the law goes into place.
